Additionally, three concierge will be inducted into to the first-ever Chicago Concierge Hall of Fame

CHICAGO (January 20, 2011) – Held in conjunction with the first “Concierge Day in Chicago” (by proclamation from Mayor Richard M. Daley), over 400 of Chicago’s top hospitality industry professionals will gather as Concierge Preferred is hosting its first-annual “Chicago Concierge Favorites Awards” on January 27, 2011 at the Hard Rock Café.

The invitation-only event will highlight over 170 businesses that were hand-picked by Chicagoland’s 750-plus suburban and city concierge as their favorite destinations in the categories of shopping, dining, nightlife and cultural attractions.

With advanced copies available at the event, the February/March edition of Concierge Preferred Magazine will highlight concierges’ top picks for things to do in Chicago. From concierges’ favorite 50 restaurants to their top 40 shops, the “Chicago Concierge Favorites” edition is the ultimate insider’s guide to Chicago and is chock-full of information from those who know the city best: the concierge.

The impact of concierge on Chicago’s visitor market is undeniable. Almost five million referrals are made by Chicago’s 750-plus city and suburban concierges with over 1.3 million dining recommendations;  1.1 shopping suggestions; advice on 658,000 nightspots; and almost 1.2 million referrals to the Chicago area’s various cultural attractions being made each year.

An awards show-style presentation will take place at the event, in which the top five vote getters in each category will be announced and presented with an award. Presenters include Conscious Living TV’s Bianca Alexander; WGN Radio and WGN-TV’s Dean Richards; WLUP- FM’s Pete McMurray; NBC 5 Chicago’s “24/7” host Catie Keogh; Dorothy Coyle from the Chicago Office of Tourism; MPEA’s Jim Reilly and more.

CHICAGO (Nov. 28, 2011) – By official proclamation from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the City of Chicago will celebrate its second annual “Concierge Day in Chicago” on January 26, 2012.

Concierge Preferred’s President & Publisher Tim O’Malley worked with the mayor’s office to create a day dedicated to all concierge – from residential and corporate to hotel and other types – as a way to formally pay tribute for all they do to make Chicago the world class destination it is.

“Chicagoland’s concierge are behind the scenes orchestrating a variety of activities and are true ambassadors for our city,” says O’Malley. “They are centerstage answering questions and coordinating important functions that enable tourism to thrive in Chicago and are constantly creating memorable experiences for their guests.”

The impact of concierge on Chicago’s visitor market is undeniable. Almost five million referrals are made by Chicago’s 750-plus city and suburban concierges with over 1.3 million dining recommendations;  1.1 shopping suggestions; advice on 658,000 nightspots; and almost 1.2 million referrals to the Chicago area’s various cultural attractions being made each year.

For the eighth time, Concierge Preferred was awarded the prestigious International Partner of the Year award, which is given annually to an affiliate partner who has gone above and beyond in their support of the concierge community.

By official proclamation from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the team at Concierge Preferred is proud to announce that the City of Chicago will celebrate its fourth annual Concierge Day in Chicago on January 30, 2014.

Concierge Preferred initially reached out to the Mayor’s Office in 2011, requesting that the City of Chicago create a day dedicated to all concierge—from residential and corporate to hotel and other types—as a way to formally pay tribute for all they do to make Chicago the world class destination it is.

Since then, Concierge Preferred has been active in working directly with the Mayor’s Office to successfully designate the last Thursday of every January as Concierge Day in Chicago. To date, Chicago is the only city that has such a designation.

“We are happy that Chicago is recognizing the various types of concierge and the things that they do in our wonderful city,” says Jim Gilligan, publisher and vice president of Concierge Preferred. “They are at center stage answering questions and coordinating important functions that enable tourism to thrive and are constantly creating memorable experiences for their guests.”

It’s Official! Chicago Once Again Celebrates ‘Concierge Day’

By official proclamation from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the team at Concierge Preferred is proud to announce that the City of Chicago will celebrate its fifth annual Concierge Day in Chicago on January 29, 2015.

And our city’s concierges surely deserve it. Each year, they make almost five million referrals with more than 1.3 million dining recommendations, 1.1 million shopping suggestions, 658,000 nightlife referrals, and almost 1.2 million tips on cultural attractions.
